Support for Maternal Mental Health

That Feeling – a painting by Pembrokeshire artist Ella Starling whose project on motherhood we featured recently

This has been Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week.

This year’s theme,  A Decade of Voices, reflects the growing conversation around maternal mental health, shaped by parents’ lived experience

There was very little help and support nearly 40 years ago when my own child was born and after a very difficult labour I found adjusting to motherhood was a massive challenge.

Now we have SilverCloud® Wales, NHS Wales, which is a free online mental health service. The service is flexible and no GP referral is needed. A guided self-help programme, it operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is said to be easy to set up online.

Kitty has forgotten how long she has been here now but she loves Pembrokeshire for its beauty and it's people. She spends her time searching out stories for pembrokeshire.online, swimming in the sea , drawing and painting as Snorkelfish and eating cake. She says "Pembrokeshire.online has been an opportunity to celebrate this beautiful county and its people. Keep the stories coming. We love to hear from you."
