On The Road – 124 Years Later

The Pembrokeshire Classic Car Club marked National Drive It Day on 21 April – commemorating an event organised to test the endurance of the motor car which was a new invention in 1900.

Back then, there were 83 entries in an 11-day trip around Britain at speeds of under 15mph.

This latest event, backed by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, was fundraising for Childline and was a much more refined 70-mile rally, starting at Goodwick’s Parrog, then on to Gwaun Valley, Poppit Sands and the Preseli hills, pausing at  Rosebush’s Tafarn Sinc for lunch.
