If you have ever got caught by the flooding on the B4318 Gumfreston Road, you will be delighted to hear that an alert system has been approved that will warn motorists of issues.
The road in and out of Tenby has experienced problems for years and was recently part of a discussions at a meeting of Pembrokeshire County Council’s cabinet. At this meeting councillor Rhys Jordan complained that ineffective communication around closure of the road was the cause of much inconvenience to road users. He revealed that a real-time alert system, similar to the one used to inform people of any Cleddau Bridge updates, has been backed by the cabinet.
Jordan acknowledged the issues with the road were an ongoing problem that would not be resolved without more structural solutions, but as this was unlikely to happen in the near future, the warning system would go some way to alleviating the frustration of drivers.
