The Welsh Government, through the auspices of Visit Wales, is promoting “responsible tourism” – “economic growth that delivers benefits for people and places, including: environmental sustainability, social and cultural enrichment, and health benefits”.
Visit Wales says: “It’s about: minimising negative impacts on the environment and local culture; maximising economic benefits for local people; respecting and celebrating Welsh heritage, language, and landscapes; and encouraging year-round, low-impact travel that supports communities beyond peak seasons.”
It adds: “Addo is our long-term responsible tourism campaign, where we encourage visitors and locals to promise to do the little things that make a big difference, to look after our land, our businesses, our communities and each other.
