Vacancy at Riding for Disabled

A post is becoming available at Riding for the Disabled (RDA), an innovative programme aiming to enrich lives through the bond between people and horses.

RDA says: “Our programmes improve mobility, boost physical health and mental wellbeing, build confidence, and teach new skills. Locally these programmes are delivered through our lively group based at Havard Stables in Dinas.”

It is seeking an energetic individual with strong managerial skills and some equine knowledge to help steer the group, as their chairperson Simon leaves the post. He has worked with the group for the past three years.

It says: “You will be overseeing a financially viable charity with some 30 or so volunteers who give their time during school term time on Thursday mornings. The chairperson would also be involved in liaising with the many local companies and organisations that support us. We also usually have a stand at all the local horse/agricultural shows through the summer.

“Giving your time to your local RDA group will mean that more disabled people can enjoy the therapy and fun of horses.”
