Joni and Jazz

An impressive lineup of talented jazz musicians will pay tribute to the genius of Joni Mitchell on Friday 24 July at Ffwrn in Fishguard.

Joni’s Jazz is billed as “an intimate live performance celebrating the richly textured, jazz-influenced era of Joni Mitchell’s songwriting”.

Mitchell’s chord structures, melodies and harmonies took her deep into jazz territory and to collaborations with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius and Charles Mingus.

Starting at 8pm, this promises to be an evening of exceptional music. Tickets £15 from Aberjazz.

The band: Sarah Davenport (vocals), Jay Azzolina (guitar), Dave Jones (piano), Chris Ryan (saxophone), Gethin Jones (drums) and John Rodge (double bass).
