A major offshore wind farm has been approved for the Pembrokeshire coast.

Not everyone is happy about the move to locate Lyr Wind Farm off the coast. However the move has been made to approve the project and it is hoped that this will support net zero hopes as well as create jobs.

Those in favour of the project  hold that this is the way forward for Wales becoming a “catalyst for economic growth and prosperity”.

Cierco Energy is leading the project and now has a marine licence issued by Natural Resources Wales. The project is seen as a way for this part of Wales to demonstrate innovation and expertise in the field of renewable energy from 2031.
