Call for Families of the SS St Patrick

Fishguard and Goodwick history group has reminded us that 2026 is 85th anniversary of the sinking of the SS St Patrick, the mail ship that sailed between Fishguard and Rosslare and went down on 14 June. 1941.

The Stena Nordicais is the modern replacement for the original ship and it has a remembrance service each year.

A call is going out for representative of the families of those who drowned or survived on that fateful day, 85 years ago, to come forward and join a remembrance experience on board the Nordicais. This will take place on Saturday 7 November, sailing at around 2pm and returning by 11pm.

The organisers say: “If you or another family member would like to take part, please get in touch as soon as possible, giving your details and your family member who served on the St Patrick.”
