Rainforest Plan for Pembrokeshire

There are exciting plans for an area in the Gwaun Valley that involve recreating Atlantic rainforest – something that was destroyed more than 100 years ago.
The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales (WTSWW), with the backing of insurance company Aviva, will be transforming Trellwyn Fach, near Fishguard, into an area that will benefit both wildlife and visitors, and support Wales’s efforts to become more climate resilient.
The 146 acres between the Gwaun Valley woodland and Dinas Mountain moorland, generally currently available for grazing, will be transformed into broad-leaved woodland and havens for wildlife with walking trails for us humans to enjoy. The plan will also create some protection against flooding.
