Pre-Loved Kit Back In Play

Activate West Wales, a regional partnership working to increase participation in sport and engagement in physical activity, has launched Replay – a campaign to recycle sports kit.
Activate West Wales has partnered with Loopeto, a sustainable reuse platform already being used by Welsh sport governing bodies, sports clubs, individuals and community groups to create a circular sports economy across the region.
Funded by Admiral, through the Wales Sports Association Sustainability in Sport grant, local sports clubs, players and parents from and Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot will be invited to open a “shop” on the Loopeto platform, where they can upload any unwanted sports kit or uniform which can then be sold or swapped online. The platform makes it easy for those who run sports clubs, and its players to donate, sell or buy pre-loved kit rather than sending it to landfill.
Many families across West Wales struggle to afford the kit needed to get active or get their children involved in sport – Replay aims to change that.
It is estimated that around 454 tonnes of sports kit end up in landfill each year.
